It’s release week for the new Monaco Shorts for girls by New Horizons Designs. I love these sweet little shorts with the buttons and cute curved hem! This pattern comes in sizes 12-18m to 16.
I made two versions of the shorts during testing. I didn’t end up getting a good picture of these red ones on, because they were too big. Which is sad because they turned out so cute!
I love them so much and can’t wait for my daughter to grow into them next spring. I’m itching to make a cute white button-up shirt to complete the outfit.
The second pair is made from this lightweight shirting. This was gifted to me by one of my sewing students. She made a beautiful button-up shirt and I kept the scraps to make these shorts!
Just so you know, these were earlier versions in testing. Some ease was removed before release so you’ll find that the final version of these shorts are more slimmed down. I did add 3/8″ for my daughter’s height (she’s skinny for her height). So if you want to make the shorts a tad longer, that’s easy to do.
We found the sizing to be spot on, and the instructions thorough and easy to follow. So if you want to squeeze in an easy project for the hot weather, we’d give this pattern two thumbs up!
