Last month I had the opportunity to finish (and pattern test) my first Greenstyle Creations Pattern, the Clara Wrap Top. This pattern is part of the Sew Fab Sewing Pattern Bundle. Get 6 patterns for $4.50 each! Or buy more for even a bigger savings! If you buy all 9 patterns, they are only $4 each. Check out how it works in this blog post.

I love the idea of a ballet style cardigan and had some aqua modal/spandex from Surge Fabric Shop in my stash. I made an XS and I did do an SBA (small bust adjustment) to the bodice by pinching out a triangle at the neckline. I also narrowed the dart and lengthened it, to better fit my small bust.
Unfortunately, this fabric was only 54″ wide. I didn’t realize that until I had already started cutting out. This meant that I didn’t have enough length for my ties to end in a pretty bow. I still like, it though!

My top ended up slightly bigger than I was hoping for, but I think that’s due to my fabric choice.
I wanted this top to end a bit past my waist so I chose not to make petite adjustments to the bodice. (I did remove length from the sleeve, though.) The intended fit is to have the ties wrap right around your natural waist and if you look at other tester photos, you’ll see how beautiful that can look! I think it looks especially nice on those ladies who have some curves. Alas, I do not…but I still rock the bod that I have.

I paired this top with a similarly light and flowy dress. I think this top will be so nice for spring as we transition to warmer weather. Hopefully! PLEEEEEEASE!!!
What do you think of my new photo background? My property borders horse pasture and behind that is a state forest. I just can’t wait for all of the leaves to come out! I did have to trespass a few feet to get these shots…hopefully the neighbors didn’t notice!
Wow, you still have so much snow! Hopefully your fresh springy top will summon spring.
